Restoring Kindness Canada

In 2020 Kevin and Paula Casey launched Restoring Kindness Canada, a time our community was struggling with sickness and division. It felt like a time where we needed to get back to DOING something for humanity not just saying or posting something.

People need to see unexpected practical acts of love and respect for all people in our community. Let’s take some of the words and social media postings and put them into action. It is really quite simple, pay for the person behind you in the coffee line, pay for someone’s parking meter, treat a police officer or fireman to lunch, cut your neighbor’s lawn or plow their driveway. Together let’s have fun being creative in how to bless someone unexpectedly.

We also sponsor or support local Non-For-Profit organizations, sports teams, community events, and various environmentally friendly programs.

Operation Christmas Child

We have a long history of supporting local and international community initiatives and our community engagement is well recognized by our peers.

For the last 20 years, we have supported Operation Christmas Child organized by Samaritan’s Purse International Relief. Operation Christmas Child is a program that collects gift-filled shoe-boxes from caring donors and distributes them to struggling kids all over the world.

In lieu of corporate gifts and in partnership with all our clients and suppliers, we buy enough items to fill over 250+ Christmas boxes each year, that are shipped worldwide to children that otherwise might not receive anything else for Christmas.

In 2014, QJS owners, Kevin, and Paula Casey opened their home to host an event called Christmas in October, where members of the community are invited to help with the packing of the Christmas boxes. The event also offers other activities at the farm: BBQ, hayrides, live music, arts and crafts, face painting, etc.

Wounded Warriors – Park of Reflection, Whitby

In 2014, we partnered up with Wounded Warriors and their Park of Reflection Project, at Cullen Gardens, Whitby, ON. “The park’s design symbolizes and augments their journey back to health, and represents the sacrifice those in uniform and their families have made for the greater safety and security of Canada and freedom around the world.

The Park of Reflection will be a place for all Canadians to visit, reflect, and remember the cost of service and its impact on families.”

Our Involvement is part of the Adopt a Park program by the Town of Whitby. “The Adopt-a-Park Program is a cooperative program designed to encourage citizens, individuals, organizations, businesses, and clubs to volunteer and assist the municipality to enhance the Town’s Parks and Open Spaces by providing the opportunity to contribute financially toward major capital improvements, or minor capital enhancements, or providing the opportunity to provide labor in-kind for clean-ups.”
