21 Step Commercial Duct Cleaning Process

  1. Test and inspect the furnace and air system
  2. Turn off system (if possible)
  3. Inquire of air balancing and mark dampener
  4. Create an access point in hot air trunk
  5. Pre-inspection of hot air system
  6. Connect suction to hot air trunk (create negative air)
  7. Using compressed air and whips, clean individual vents using compressed air (and negative air), blow out individual vents throughout the building
  8. Re-adjust damper and vent settings for the balance system.  Adjust air flow for balancing of the system to original settings.
  9. Using air snake, whips or brushes clean hot air trunk
  10. Send reverse blowing skipper ball up individual hot air trunk for additional cleaning
  11. Post inspection of hot air system
  12. Create an access point to the cold air return
  13. Pre-inspection of the cold air return
  14. Connect suction to the cold air return
  15. Using compressed air, whips or brushes (and negative air) blow out individual cold air returns throughout the building
  16. Using air snake, whips, or brushes, clean cold air return trunk
  17. Post-inspection of cold air return vent
  18. Inspect cold air return trunk
  19. Inspect and adjust dampener
  20. Seal up system
  21. Turn the system on and test
